My first 4th of July

Well it wasn't the Fort Vancouver display and KFC at the park and the good ole "Old Navy" 4th of July shirts that Dad tends to forget we should only wear on that day! :) but we had a great time.

In the afternoon we went to Target to take our first family portraits. We decided to do a nice family picture and then some individuals of Talmadge. All in all I think it went well we would have liked to have more variety of shots and wished the photographer would have taken a bit more shots of the same pose, but we found some we liked and ordered them. After that we went over to Kim's mom's house and met the whole family for a barbeque. After dinner a few of us went to a park down near the Boise River. Kim strapped Talmadge in the Baby Bjorn and together Talmadge went down his first slide. Talmadge really likes the outdoors he is never fussy and always has his eyes open trying to soak everything up. I really hope he stays like that cause we'll have a lot of fun as a family camping, biking and doing a lot of outdoor things.

We came back to the house and by that time is was dark enough and the kids were feeling restless so they wanted to light off fireworks. It seriously was about 9:30-10:00 at that time and much to our surprise Talmadge was up and wasn't fussy at all. When the fireworks started we were amazed at Talmadge's fascination with the light. I shot a bunch of pictures and took the video shown below to show how enthralled he was with this event. Talmadge from day one has always been attracted to light, maybe this is with all babies, but Talamadge especially. At this point I was feeling really tired at this point so I stayed back with Talmadge while Kim and a few others from the family went to a field behind Dianna's house to see the fireworks. Maybe I'm just a lame duck but after awhile fireworks get old for me, and I really dont like sitting outside with all the bugs just to enjoy fireworks, I think it comes from me being a doer and always on the go, but with this new job I hope to learn to relax a bit more, anways Talmadge fell asleep on me and we had a nice little nap. We drove home and went to bed, next year is going to be so much fun!

Oh that is so cute! Talmadge is darling and getting so big. That is so good that he liked the fireworks Huddy wanted nothing to do with them, we were bummed he said "oh scare me" and went inside so it was fun to see Talmadges cute little face!
